I've Been Tagged
First off, I'd like to thank Katie for tagging me. I am so thrilled. The most interesting things about myself are too embarrassing to post. If it were only my siblings reading it I might go for it, but here's a censored version instead.
1. My two front teeth are as fake as they come. I was in a bike accident in the first grade where I face planted in the street. My mother always warned me never to ride "doubles." I wish I would have listened.
2. I can crochet. I learned as a little girl and have kept at it. You name it, I can crochet it...blankets, booties, sweaters, doilies. I'm one of the few members of my generation that has carried on this old-fashioned practice.
3. I have been stung by a sting ray. I was engaged in a chicken fight in Mexican waters when it happened. It was pretty painful. Needless to say, my teammate and I lost the battle.
4. I have donated to Locks-of-Love twice in the past year and a half. My hair went from my butt to my shoulders. I have never cut my hair this short before, but am loving it. How can I regret it when it was for charity?
5. I have an abnormally weak bladder. I peed my pants at school when I was a Junior in High School. My loyal best friend walked behind me (to shield the soggy disgrace on my pants) the entire way to my car as we attempted to ditch school. We were nearly home-free when a proctor drove a bike in front of my car and signaled for me to stop. In a panic, I stepped on the gas and swerved around him. I may have had a couple sessions of detention, but at least I had my dignity! Thanks Trena, not only for the help, but for the company in ALC!!!
6. I have broken three bones. At age four, I rolled off my mother's bed and landed on my sister's foot. That broke my collar bone. As a freshman, I broke my nose during a basketball game. I bumped into my friend's forehead. I will always remember Amanda when I see the bump. I then broke my ankle during a basketball practice. Are High School sports really worth all the pain?
I will now tag Kristi...that will teach you for taking so long with your blog! HA HA HA HA HA

Only 5 Weeks Early!

Baby Wyatt Mckay decided that it was time to make his debut. He was born on Friday, November 2, at 7:35 in the evening. Kristi is the women...she did it with no epidural because the hospital decided to ignore her. He was 6 pounds and 17 inches long. He is seriously the cutest little guy. He has a little cleft in his chin and the roundest little head. Pictures can never do enough justice. Zachary and Violet love him so much and are happy to be back with their parents. Their little world was temporarily turned upside down. He was extremely healthy considering he was so early. He is already at home with his parents. On a different note, I have a ton of pictures waiting on my camera to be moved to the computer. I'm anxious to share our Halloween Party. However, I cannot find the cord that connects the camera to the computer. I will eventually get my act together.

Dad's Surgery
We were all surprised when my dad came down with some kind of stomach flu following Violet's birthday party. He said it didn't feel like any flu he had ever had before. Mom took him in to have blood work done on Friday when the pain became so bad he couldn't work. His white blood cell count was elevated so they performed a CT Scan. To everyone's surprise he had appendicitis! The doctors removed it at 5 o'clock this morning. It broke as they were removing it, so they flushed the area and put him on antibiotics. He's doing well and might even be able to leave the hospital some time in the late morning. They won't be able to make it to the trunk-or-treat tonight, so they're getting a costume parade at home. Feel free to call him...everyone knows how he loves a good dose of sympathy. Poor Guy!!!

Construction Begins

Construction has officially begun on our addition. We were doing small projects in preparation, but were limited until our plans were completed and approved. Everything has passed and the long process has begun. When completed, the house will go from 1680 sq ft to 2560 sq ft. Grandma Wyatt will be living in the addition. The original goal was Christmas, but we'll take what we can get. Thanks Dad for the free labor and knowledge. My father is the most capable and knowledgeable man I know (he's also a darn cute Pa)!!!
First & Last Day of School

One of our biggest transitions this year was sending Emma off to school. She was so ready. This is a picture of her on her first day. As we were leaving the classroom on the first day she told me, "Mom, I love school so much I want to go every day, even Saturday." Her attitude remains very much the same. It's wonderful. This Friday her class will embark on their first field trip to the pumpkin patch. Did I mention I graduated in May. The goal was to be completed before Emma entered Kindergarten and I barely made it. Hey...I created this blog, so I deserve bragging rights! There are no plans for going to work. Maybe when the kids are in school...maybe not.

The Five of Us!
Sadly...this is the last picture taken of all five of us together on one of my cameras. I'm the outstanding joke in the family. I have really bad luck with cameras. I guess I just get tired of buying new ones whenever the other ones mysteriously break. Maybe not mysteriously...the kids tend to get their hands on them. I rely on other family members to take pictures and email them to me. That's why I have the kids pictures done professionally so much. Meet the Manning's!
