Dad's Surgery

We were all surprised when my dad came down with some kind of stomach flu following Violet's birthday party. He said it didn't feel like any flu he had ever had before. Mom took him in to have blood work done on Friday when the pain became so bad he couldn't work. His white blood cell count was elevated so they performed a CT Scan. To everyone's surprise he had appendicitis! The doctors removed it at 5 o'clock this morning. It broke as they were removing it, so they flushed the area and put him on antibiotics. He's doing well and might even be able to leave the hospital some time in the late morning. They won't be able to make it to the trunk-or-treat tonight, so they're getting a costume parade at home. Feel free to call him...everyone knows how he loves a good dose of sympathy. Poor Guy!!!

Construction Begins

Construction has officially begun on our addition. We were doing small projects in preparation, but were limited until our plans were completed and approved. Everything has passed and the long process has begun. When completed, the house will go from 1680 sq ft to 2560 sq ft. Grandma Wyatt will be living in the addition. The original goal was Christmas, but we'll take what we can get. Thanks Dad for the free labor and knowledge. My father is the most capable and knowledgeable man I know (he's also a darn cute Pa)!!!

First & Last Day of School

One of our biggest transitions this year was sending Emma off to school. She was so ready. This is a picture of her on her first day. As we were leaving the classroom on the first day she told me, "Mom, I love school so much I want to go every day, even Saturday." Her attitude remains very much the same. It's wonderful. This Friday her class will embark on their first field trip to the pumpkin patch. Did I mention I graduated in May. The goal was to be completed before Emma entered Kindergarten and I barely made it. Hey...I created this blog, so I deserve bragging rights! There are no plans for going to work. Maybe when the kids are in school...maybe not.

The Five of Us!

Sadly...this is the last picture taken of all five of us together on one of my cameras. I'm the outstanding joke in the family. I have really bad luck with cameras. I guess I just get tired of buying new ones whenever the other ones mysteriously break. Maybe not mysteriously...the kids tend to get their hands on them. I rely on other family members to take pictures and email them to me. That's why I have the kids pictures done professionally so much. Meet the Manning's!
